Aqua Sun International was formed to bring cleaner and safer drinking water to people in areas of the World where water purification systems and electrical power are typically impractical or unattainable. Aqua Sun began designing and building residential and commercial solar systems in 1973. It has engineered and installed over 500 active and passive solar systems and homes in the Western United States through the 1990's.
In 1986, Aqua Sun entered the water purification business by designing and installing them into their Solar Homes Building Program. The concept of combining solar energy and water purification into a single, completely self-contained water purification system was invented and developed by Aqua Sun in 1990.
This first Solar Powered Water Purification System was a portable system enclosed in a small carrying case. The current PWP-C system/Responder S (approximately 50 lb. briefcase - size unit with wheels) can be set up in less than one minute and produce 1 gallon (3.7 liters) per minute and up to 100+ gallons (370+ liters) per day of cleaner and safer drinking water from most any creek, stream, pond, well, lake or most any fresh water (other than salt water) source.
In 1993, these systems were put into operation with white water rafting companies on the Colorado River on an evaluation basis. In 1995, after a lengthy study of the river water, the EPA and FDA approved the Aqua Sun System in a new pilot program for providing drinking water directly from the Colorado River to the rafting companies. The Coconino County Health Department in Arizona determined the system was the most effective water purification system in use on the Colorado River to date.
Since that time, Aqua Sun Systems both solar powered and residential and small commercial have been put into operation around the World. Aqua Sun International is committed to providing the most innovative self contained, portable and stationary solar battery & 12-volt powered water purifiying systems on the market today. Our systems are designed to bring cleaner and safer drinking water to even the most remote areas of the World where water purification and electrical power are impractical or unattainable.
Our systems' water purification production ranges from 1 gallon (3.7 liters) per minute to 15,000+ gallons (55,500+ liters) per day.
