CBC-Stlye Carbon Filter Information The CBC-Stlye Carbon Cartridges are designed for highly effective filtration of water for certain VOC's, Chlorine, taste and odor, and sediment reduction down to 0.5 micron. Manufactured entirely from FDA-compliant materials, these cartridges are suitable for potable water filtration, as well as many industrial, commercial, and food service applications. The CBC-Style Cartridges have a nominal 0.5 micron sediment filtration rating making them excellent polishing filters or prefilters in applications which require fine filtration. These cartridges are also effective at filtering Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts from potable drinking water. Specifications and Performance Data
1 - Micron ratings based on 85% or greater removal of given particle size. Data obtained from actual particle counts using AC Fine Test Dust and Latex spheres. CBC-style cartridges capable of reducing 99.9% of Cryptosporidium and Giardia cysts. 2 - Estimated capacity using 2 p.p.m. free available chlorine (FAC) at continuous flow with greater than 90% reduction. NOTE: The recommended maximum water temperature for VOC and Pesticide reduction is 85 F

The CBC-Style Cartridges will also Reduce the Following VOC's and Pesticides for Certain System Applications**: VOC's
** NOTE: Performance capacity depends on system design, flow rate, and certain other application conditions. Certain States require system registration or certification for health-related contaminant reduction claims. WARNING: Do not use where the water is microbiologically unsafe or with water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the unit, except for cyst reduction with the CBC cartridges on water containing cysts. The CBC cartridge will contain a very small amount of carbon fines (very fine black powder) and a new cartridge after installation should be flushed with sufficient water to remove all traces of the fines from your water system before using the water. Each time you use your filtered water tap for drinking or cooking purposes it is recommended that you run (flush) the tap for at least 10 seconds prior to using water. This is particularly important if the tap has not been used daily.
