Solar Powered Water Purification System

Aqua Sun's Model PWP-S is a self-contained, solar powered, water purification system designed for portability, ease of use, and durability. Using the best filtration technology available, it produces safe drinking water from most fresh water sources such as rivers, ponds, wells, and lakes. It can be unpacked and operational in less than one minute and can produce up to 100 gallons a day of safe, clean water. Operating the Model PWP-S requires no external power, or chemical additives.

The purification process starts with a sediment filter to clean the water and remove any suspended debris. The water is then sent through a 0.5 micron carbon block filter. This filter cartridge is an excellent water "polishing" filter. It is capable of removing Giardia Lamblia, Cyst, Cryptosporidium, bad taste, odors, color,  chlorine, THMs (trihalalomethanes),   certain VOCs (volatile organic compounds), pesticides and many other harmful chemical contaminates. The filtered, "polished" water is then channeled past a ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet light kills bacteria and viruses that can cause diseases such as Typhoid Fever, Dysentery, Cholera, Infectious Jaundice, Hepatitis, Influenza, and Enteric Fever. This process can kill these and many other micro-organisms to a 99.9% kill rate. When this combination of filtration and UV disinfection is used together, clean, safe drinking water can be produced from unpotable water.


Model PWP-S is powered by a marine grade, photovoltaic solar electric panel that can be attached to the lid of the case for charging purposes or stored inside for traveling or shipping. The solar panel needs only four to eight hours of sunlight per day to maintain the system's battery, which powers the pump and ultraviolet light. A sixty-minute electrical timer is used to turn on the system. The battery charge is constantly monitored to prevent excessive draining of the battery.

The system is housed in a durable, space age, lightweight structural plastic carrying case. It is water and air tight for maximum protection of the internal parts. This briefcase style case meets and exceeds the highest standards for industrial, airline, military and commercial applications. It is portable enough to be carried anywhere in the world. It is approved for air shipments inside and outside the continental United States.
